Community Competition | Fri – Sun

We’re judging patriotic porches, backyard BBQs, dressed-up dogs, decorated bikes, delectable drinks, and more! Post your patriotic pictures on the Wheatlands Residents Facebook page and tag with #FrontPorch4th. Winner gets bragging rights for the most patriotic family in the neighborhood and will be featured in our next newsletter.

COMMUNITY UPDATES AND INFORMATION


Pool Information – The pool season is going swimmingly! We are glad every family in Wheatlands can sign up to use the pool this summer! As we are allowed to have more capacity at the pool we are encouraging more walk ups instead of increasing more reservations per family.

We are finding residents are signing up for slots and not showing up so we don’t want to add more slots per family and have the pool not being used. By leaving available slots, residents can take a look at the reservation system and walk up for times the pool isn’t at max capacity.  

If you are not able to make it to your reservation please go on sign up genius and cancel your reservation so our guards know how many walk ups to allow and others can sign up.


Snack Shack is Back! – Good news, snack shack will be opening back up at the pool this Wednesday, July 1st. We ask that you bring exact change to minimize the handling of cash back and forth. We are working on setting up a credit card option. All items will be $1 with the exception of otter pops, those will be $.25.

Clubhouse Information -The clubhouse is still closed for rentals however as we get more direction from the state on number of people allowed to gather and cleaning requirements we hope to allow rentals soon.

Park Information – The community playgrounds are open and it is nice to see the kids enjoying the space once again. The board has contacted ID Sculpture to repair the damage from the vandalism at the park while the park was closed.  We are also working on adding security cameras at the park to prevent future vandalism.  The pet waste stations have been ordered and will be placed once we get them.  We appreciate your help keeping our trails and parks clean by picking up after your pet and disposing of trash in the provided receptacles.

COVENANT ENFORCEMENT

Trees, Trees, Trees

Many trees in our Wheatlands neighborhood are struggling. They experienced an early freeze last fall, and then a late frost this spring. After doing an initial inspection, it was decided by the board to hold off on continuing with the inspection of trees until after July 1. If the trees are not showing life by then, the homeowner would have until September 30 to replace.

Please note that the Wheatlands Metro District trees will also be evaluated at this time and replaced if deemed necessary. If a household receives a violation regarding dead trees, please feel free to reach out to AMI at [email protected] with any questions. Keeping the lines of communication open with them is important.



How to respond to District rule violation notices

  • Address it: Ignoring a violation notice won’t make it go away and can make the situation much worse, if not responded to. Once you’ve received a violation notice, take steps to understand and correct the violation, and either pay or appeal the fine if issued.

  • Don’t take it personally: Remember that the rules were created to keep the community safe and comfortable for residents, including you. You agreed to abide by the rules when you bought your home.

  • Communicate: While friendly phone or email communication can address minor infractions or warnings, written communication and documentation helps create clarity for everyone involved. When you’ve been accused of a rule’s violation, it’s best to address it in writing. If there are extenuating circumstances—like a family emergency that causes you to fall behind on lawn care—communicate that to your Covenant enforcement manager at [email protected] . You don’t know if an exception might be made until you ask.

  • Get involved: There is usually a correlation between the level of homeowner involvement and the success of a community. So, if you want to improve your community, volunteer for a board or committee position or attend meetings to see how you can contribute.
