Community Information
No Dumping at the Clubhouse Dumpsters

Good news, the dumpster has been fixed. The board voted and approved to have a lock installed at the clubhouse dumpster this past month so it will be installed soon. This will help prevent additional illegal dumping.
We appreciate your cooperation in not dumping items by the clubhouse and taking your large items to the Aurora dump located nearby on Gun Club road. Another option is to contact Waste Management for their dumpster rentals or dumpster bags. We will not tolerate illegal dumping at the clubhouse and violators will be fined and prosecuted.

Pool Information

We are starting to think about summer and pool season! We are going to be consolidating the COVID19 Waiver with the standard pool waiver so you will not need to bring any additional waivers to the pool next year and will just need your key fob. Last pool season, we noticed some of the tile work coming off in the zero entry pool so we have budgeted this year to redo the tile work on the pool.  We will be scheduling that work to be completed prior to opening. The pool shades were a big success last year so we will be installing 2 more of the shade structures at the pool near the zero-depth entry pool along the same side of the pool as the existing structures. We are also working on having a square device at the snack shack to allow credit card purchases of snacks this summer.  Much more to come as we get closer to pool season but we are starting to prepare and can’t wait for you to enjoy the pool this summer.

Park Information

The design was submitted to the City of Aurora in December and we are still waiting on feedback and approval from the City of Aurora to begin the project.  The design is shown below and will include: a full size basketball court, multi use sport court (for pickleball or half basketball), yard games, ping pong tables, new perennial beds, picnic tables and hammock area. We have submitted the design to the City of Aurora for approval and construction will begin next year. We look forward to completing the park and having additional outdoor space for our community to enjoy.
District Landscaping Information –  The Wheatlands Board met with our landscape architect Architerra to discuss adding additional plant color palettes to our neighborhood. This would include plants that come back year over year and provide color throughout different growing seasons. The board chose the blue, purple, yellow planting scheme shown below that pairs well with our existing material in the neighborhood. Our first focus will be around the monuments in our neighborhood and then we hope to expand the plan throughout the Wheatlands Metro property adding pops of color throughout the neighborhood. We are anticipating being able to start work on this during the Spring.

Important Neighborhood Watch Info
We are seeing an increase in the number of motor vehicle thefts and motor vehicle trespasses in our community.  Please be sure to report all suspicious activity to the Aurora Police Department (303-627-3100/911). “If you see something, say something.”

Tips to Help Prevent Motor Vehicle Theft and Motor Vehicle Trespasses:

1.      NEVER leave your vehicle running unattended in your driveway, garage, or on the street – if you use a remote start you may do so however be sure doors are locked and key/key fobs are in a safe place away from the vehicle.

2.      ALWAYS keep your vehicle doors locked, when driving and parked.

3.      Park in your garage. If you must park outside, park in a well-lit location.

4.      Do not keep a spare set of keys in the vehicle.

5.      Do not store firearms or other weapons in the vehicle.

6.      Do not “advertise” what’s in your vehicle. Remove all items each time you depart the vehicle and do not leave anything visible.

7.      Avoid leaving documents with your address in the glove box.

8.      Purchase comprehensive insurance which covers stolen vehicles.

9.      Use a theft deterrent system such as “The Club” or an alarm system.
