Event Recap
Bark and Splash
Thank you to everyone who came out to enjoy our first Bark and Splash Bash with our special 4-legged friends. The dogs had a fantastic time getting to jump, run and play in the pool while enjoying pup cups, dog treats and dog toys. Thank you to the Front Range Rec staff for helping out with this event!

Family Movie Night
Thank you to everyone that came out for the September Family Movie Night! A very special thank you our Wheatlands resident, Andrew Jatau and his family for helping volunteer to set up and clean up our Family Movie Nights this year.
We got to watch Toy Story 5 and enjoy some great theatre style popcorn provided by the district. It is always so fun to enjoy family movies with the community. Hope to see you in December for our Holiday themed Family Movie Night, where popcorn and hot chocolate will be provided.
Community Updates
Wicked Wheatlands Judges
Do you love all things spooky? We need more judges to help with our Wicked Wheatlands Halloween Decorating contest! As a judge, your job is to drive around the neighborhood on October 23-25 and rank the best day display, best spooky display, best kid friendly display and people’s choice. So, get ready for some spooky fun and help your community by joining our team of judges. Please email board@wheatlandsmetro.org if you can creep it real and help us out.
Pool Update
We are thankful for an amazing summer and all the staff at Front Range who helped keep our community safe this summer at the pool. During the off season, the board approved some maintenance for both pools. Front Range found a leak they believe to be in the skimmer line of the wader pool at the very end of our pool season. They are going to do a pressure test during the off season and identify the point of the leak. They are also going to begin plastering the bottom of the lap pool and replace the grates at the bottom of the wader pool.
Tree Removal
Our arborist identified trees that have died and need to be replaced throughout the district. We have approved the removal of the dead trees however we are not going to replace them yet due to the current water restrictions. We will replace them once we feel we can get them established which could be early spring next year.
Park Bathroom
Instead of closing the park bathroom at the end of September, the board has decided to leave it open through the end of October. We know that the park gets a lot of use in the Fall and we want to leave it open for an additional month for the community to enjoy. We will winterize it in the beginning of November this year.

Holiday Lighting and Decorations

While it may be hard to believe, holiday season is, in fact, fast approaching. Cue the holiday parties, lights and decorations. Here is an opportunity to review you District’s rules.
Per the Wheatlands Residential Improvement Guidelines – section 3.44 Lights and Lighting
“Holiday lighting and decorations do not require approval. It is required that they not be installed more than forty-five (45) days prior to the holiday. They shall be removed within thirty (30) days following the holiday.”
If you have any questions or concerns regarding holiday lighting and decorations, please email wheatlands@amihoa.com
Aurora Water
Dear Aurora Water HOA or multifamily customer,
Aurora City Council voted Sept. 28 to permanently restrict spray irrigation Oct. 1 through April 30 in most areas (non-high traffic), and Oct. 15 through April 30 in high-traffic areas like yards, parks, and athletic fields. Aurora sits in an arid climate with a finite water supply, and this ordinance helps Aurora Water plan for the city’s long-term water needs.
Other important info:
- New high water-use turf like Kentucky bluegrass and Fescue, and new ornamental water features are prohibited citywide.
- Drip irrigation and hand watering with an on-off nozzle are still allowed.
