Polly Martin – President, Term to May 2024
We moved to Colorado in 2014 from Omaha, Nebraska and settled right into the Wheatlands. After serving on the boards (homeowners and SID) in our old neighborhood, it didn’t take long to become involved on the board here. I have found it very exciting to see numerous projects, such as the park and YMCA, come to life after all these years! We really enjoy the area with its proximity to the Southlands, Aurora Reservoir, and walking trails. My husband and I have three grown kids and spend our free time traveling, kayaking, and cheering on the Rockies!
Kathy Barela – Vice President / Treasurer, Term to May 2022
I moved to Wheatlands in 2013 and love our neighborhood! With 3 young kids, I am proud to have helped lead the community park project. It is a wonderful place to gather as a community and for the kids to play on the new playground. I have also volunteered countless hours to make our brand new recreation center a reality. It is so fun to see neighbors enjoying the programming at the new YMCA and having a place to swim in the winter! It is truly a joy serving our community and being able to transform the communities vision into a reality. Furthermore, I enjoy helping with the community communication and work hard to keep our website updated and the neighborhood informed. I grew up in Colorado and take delight in skiing and snowboarding. I enjoy fishing and camping during the summer; and cheering on the Broncos in the fall. I hope to see you around the neighborhood!
Jody Detmer – Secretary – Term to May 2024
Jody has been living in Colorado for 14 years and in Wheatlands for nearly 6 years now. He looks forward to helping the community improve and meeting fellow residents.
Sameer Bhatnagar – Assistant Treasurer – Term to May 2024
We moved to Colorado in early 2014 from Dallas, Texas. After a short stay in Fort Collins, we moved to Wheatlands in summer of 2016. My wife and I have two daughters and two dogs. I frequently go hiking with my friends, and family , enjoy taking walks at Aurora Reservoir. After serving on the boards of our old neighborhood as a board member and as President, it didn’t take long for me to realize that I needed to become involved on the board here.
I am very passionate about helping our community grow and bring our diverse community together. I hope to see and meet everyone around the neighborhood.
Brooke Holliman – Assistant Secretary – Term to May 2022
Four years ago, my husband and I discovered the Wheatlands and instantly knew we wanted to be a part of the community. It’s a pleasure raising our young daughter in a neighborhood that has so much to offer.
I’m an avid traveler and love immersing myself in new cultures. In my free time, I enjoy snowboarding, camping, and quilting. I look forward to helping with community projects and representing my neighbors in board decisions.
