Important Pool Announcement
The pool deck will be closed from Monday, June 9th, to Friday, June 13th, from 8 am – 4 pm to complete the wader pool repair promptly. There will be a lot of noise, jackhammering and concrete cutting and it will be unsafe to keep the pool open during the repair time.
Half of the pool deck and the large pool will be open from 4 pm to 8 pm on those days, so residents can still enjoy the large outdoor pool that week.
In addition, the indoor pool at the Aurora YMCA will be open for open swim to the residents to use from 11:30 am – 4 pm. We will remove most of the lap lanes and we will provide a water basketball hoop, floaties and some fun games for the kids to use during that time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we get this repair completed.
Important Aurora YMCA HVAC Update
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate getting the HVAC system back up and running at the YMCA. Vectra will be onsite again tomorrow to work on the unit that has been damaged. We have been waiting on various parts to get it functioning again. We apologize for the delay on how long this repair is taking, but it is a lot more complicated than expected. We will continue to update as we learn more.

First Food Truck Wednesday
We had our first food truck night on May 14th, unfortunately, the weather decided not to cooperate, and it got really cold and windy right before the event began. We moved the tables and chairs inside, so we could enjoy the warm clubhouse. We are very thankful to those who did attend and got to enjoy the fabulous food the food trucks provided and they got to enjoy Magic Matt’s great magic tricks and cute balloon animals. Magic Matt does something new every time. Hopefully the weather in June will cooperate and we will see you there.
Community Updates
Wheatlands Board Meetings Moving Online
The Wheatlands board voted to change our meetings from in-person monthly to in-person quarterly. We will still meet monthly, but will move the meetings to online only. This will save our district the costs incurred by our contractors to drive to attend our meeting each month. It will also help with childcare for our board members to be able to join online. We encourage residents to join us online, and the meeting schedule has been posted on our website.
The schedule is as follows:
- June – Online Only
- July – Online Only
- August – In person and Online
- September – Online Only
- October – Online Only
- November – In person and Online
- December – Online Only
Motorized Vehicles at the Park
Please help us keep our park nice and report any motorized bikes to the police immediately if they are riding in Wheatlands Park. They are causing property damage and when we reached out to the PAR Officer, they said the best way is to report them while it is happening. You can call 911 as it is a crime currently taking place. We have installed signs at the park to make sure the rules are clearly seen. We appreciate the community’s help in reporting this issue and helping us stop the damage to our park. The non-emergency number for the Aurora Police is 303-627-3100
Pool Season Updates
Pool Hours
We are excited to announce we will be opening the pool one hour earlier on the weekends! The pool will open at 9 am on Saturday and Sunday. We hope you enjoy the extra hour of swimming.

Pool Maintenance
A major leak has been found in the return line in the kids’ wading pool. We are working with Pool Doctor to get this fixed as soon as possible.
The whole pool deck will be closed from Monday, June 9th, to Friday, June 13th, from 8 am – 4 pm to complete the repair promptly. There will be a lot of noise, jackhammering and concrete cutting and it will be unsafe to keep the pool open during the repair time.

Unfortunately, a lot can happen over the 8 months the pool is not in service due to winter. The pool is getting up there in age as well. We are doing everything we can to get this fixed as soon as possible.
We will keep you posted as we learn more about the repair.
The big pool will be opening on time as expected and will open this Saturday, May 24th at 9 am.
We will be moving the “Welcome Back to Summer” event to Saturday, June 14th, so we can hopefully celebrate the reopening of the wader pool with pizza and ice cream with the community.
We appreciate your patience and understanding in this manner.

Fence Maintenance
Colorado winter weather can be harsh on fencing materials. Paints and stains fade, and boards can become warped or damaged. As Spring approaches, inspectors will be looking specifically at fencing to see if there are any areas that need to be maintained. If you receive notice that your fence needs work, you will be given until June 30th for completion, but before you start any work, please read through the following information. For more detailed information you can review Schedule 1, Schedule 2 and Schedule 3 in the Residential Improvement Guidelines.

Perimeter Fence vs. Non-Perimeter Fence
First you must determine what type of fence you are going to be working on. Wheatlands has many types of fences and where you live determines what type of fence is allowed. The map below shows where the perimeter fences are located marked in red. Any other fencing is considered non-perimeter fencing.

Perimeter Fences
All perimeter fences must be touched up and painted the same Sherwin Williams Nightingale color. You do not need to submit a Design Review request form if you are touching up your fence. Below is the information for the color that you can take to the paint store.

Non-Perimeter Fencing
If you are using one of the pre-approved stains for your non-perimeter fence or re-staining the same color, you do not need to submit a Design Review request form to touch up your fence. The following list of semi-transparent stains has been approved for the fences within the Wheatland’s Community. Any other stains will need to be approved, and you will need to submit a Design Review request form.
