Community Event Recap
Welcome to Summer event…

The weather was a little chilly and the rains came at the end, but the ice cream was delicious and the bounce house was fun as usual. The clubhouse looked amazing completely renovated. And the pool was sparkling and had a lot of visitors in the morning until the clouds rolled in. Thank you to all who attended.
June Food truck Night… was a great success. The weather was beautiful, the winds were calm and the pool was open. We had hundreds of residents attend and they had a great time hanging out while the kids enjoyed the bounce house, games, face painter, balloon twister and magician while waiting for their food from the food trucks. Hope to see you again in July!
A very special thank you to Jen Cronk with 1320 Homes and Melissa Engle with Home Mortgage Alliance for organizing and putting this event together! It was hot and a lot of work for everyone involved. We hauled off 90 cubic feet of trash and large items and over 1 ton of shredded paper! So many residents attended and helped each other out! It was so great to see everyone coming together as a community to help their neighbors out.

District Landscaping Information
The perennial plantings have started going in around our monuments and entrances. These plants will grow in size year over year and provide a pop of color to our neighborhood entrances. We anticipate all the plantings being completed by the end of July but will inform the neighborhood if this changes.
Park Phase II Update
At our June board meeting, the board selected a few of the design elements regarding the chairs for phase 2 of the park and the built in ping pong table. Our architect also gave an update on the timing and explained that we are still in engineering submittal with the city of Aurora. Once the City has completed their approval process we will go out to bid and start construction.

With the delay in the approval process, we anticipate the park construction not beginning until Fall. We will keep the community informed as the project progresses.

Important Neighborhood Watch Info

The Wheatlands community participates in the Neighborhood Watch program, however we no longer have an Area Coordinator. We did at one time, but unfortunately the contact has relocated out of Colorado.
So, we are in need a of Neighborhood Watch Area Coordinator. Please see the description and information below…

Description for Area Coordinator – Neighborhood Watch (Volunteer)
Neighborhood Watch is a crime-based prevention program that stresses education and situational awareness. Everyone who lives in a participating community is part of Neighborhood Watch, homeowners and renters. A community’s success with this program is only as good as the participation. This is a volunteer program who relies on volunteers in the community.

Some of the Area Coordinators responsibilities are but not limited to:
1. Meeting attendance (4 meetings per year)
2. Communicating meeting and event information with Next Door, community Facebook Pages, and HOA/Metro District where applicable
3. Assisting community on how to report crime, sharing crime tips

Please remember this is a volunteer program, not a guarantee that crime will not occur. We are not a citizen vigilante group.
Neighborhood Watch helps reduce the risk of being a victim through education and prepares citizens to respond accordingly to suspicious activity.
If you are interested in becoming an Area Coordinator in your community or have additional questions please contact me at [email protected].
